Remember to bring your Bull Falls Double IPA submissions as we will be choosing our top 3 to send down to the Finals!

Have a Titletown Open entry that you have a question about? bring it down.

Plus the monthly category was originally chocolate, so if you have any beers or wines or anything you you made with nibs, powder. Ect… bring them along for some feedback.

See you there..

Roar Off The Shore 2017

Green Bay Rackers voted Best Homebrew by Roar Off The Shore attendees!

Had a great time at the Roar again this year. There was a big turn out, sounds like almost 1,000 people attended this year.

Theresa brought a tasty peach apricot chardonnay. Fred brought his awesome IPA. Dan brought a wonderful london porter. Damian brought a delicious schwarzbier.

Hope those that didn’t attend this year can make it to the next one.

2017 Northeast Wisconsin Open Homebrew Competition Results

Here are the results from the competition at Lion’s Tail Brewing Co. in Neenah, WI.

Out of a total 68 entries these are the top 10. Congrats.

All Hail Cabs!

This one comes from our Secretary Paul C.

I ordered a pail of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon from the brew club in Illinois and think this article is quite timely, even though it is from Spring 2000!

All Hail Cabs!

Author:  Tom Rinaldi Issue: Spring 2000

Most winegrowers and connoisseurs consider Cabernet Sauvignon the king of the red wines. Genetically, its parents are Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. The exact birth of Cabernet Sauvignon is lost in legend, but its popularity with Americans dates back to a time when Thomas Jefferson was sipping and praising Chateau Margaux.

Hoppy Hearts Brewfest

Thanks to all Green Bay Rackers who helped at Hoppy Hearts Brewfest on February 25.

Upcoming events and News March 2017

We would like to wish everyone a SAFE and happy St. Patrick’s day.

Roar Off The Shore Brewfest is coming up in a couple of weeks, always a fun time there. Check here for details.

Our next club business meeting will be at Ned Kelly’s on Apr. 1st (not fooling about that). Time and address can be found here. Come on down and check out their new 100 tap system if you have not already. Rackers members receive a $2 discount on all tap beer (must show membership card for discount), there are some exceptions and they will be noted here.

Also, the Titletown Open is just over a month away. Entries must be received by April 20th at noon for all drop off locations. For the serious procrastinator, or the beer that needs just a little more time, walk in registration is available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Titletown Taproom Friday, April 21st.

We have another member benefit! Head on over to https://foodvacbags.com/ to get your 5% discount on vacuum seal bags. They are great for storing hops, grains, and other brewing supplies long term.

From the email:

  • We have been in business for over 10 years
  • We carry three brands of vacuum sealer bags, plus our own. Our FoodVacBag brand is a fantastic value (savings of at least 60% over Foodsaver™ brand products)  and very high quality (read the 2,800 reviews)
  • Our bags work on any standard vacuum sealer machine – and we sell the sealer machines as well.
  • We always include free same-day shipping – no matter the order size
  • Our prices are low already, but we are happy to offer another 5% off to your home brew club members.

See this page for details.

Big Brew at Stillmank 2017

The big club brew at Stillmank Brewing this last weekend was a great time. Thanks to Brad for putting this together and letting us all meet up there for a club brew.

We got to meet some of the great brewers from the Manty Malters Homebrew Club from Manitowoc, WI as well as some folks representing the Central Wisconsin Vintners & Brewers from Fon Du Lac, WI.

Hopefully we can all get together next year to do this again.

Thanks as well to Brent Wilkerson of the Manty Malters for providing us with these great pictures.
