If you are planning on going to the picnic on Saturday please email Ryan Loock by tonight!

Once again, I apologize for not doing much updating here. I've been getting some stuff to post, but my time has been at a premium. Things are supposed to slow down in summertime. Ha ha.

Congrats go out to Ed Mathis once again for bringing home a silver medal at the AHA National Homebrew Competition for his Old Ale! In lesser competitions he had a wine that took third at the Wisconsin State Fair Amateur Winemakers Competition and he took two golds, a silver, and a bronze at the Enchanted Brewing Challenge in New Mexico. I'm assuming he has taken a second job to a) enter all of these competitions and b) to put an addition on his house for all the awards. Well done!

For those of you who like entering competitions a long way away, here's one outside Fairbanks, AK. Entries are being accepted right now. Check that link for more details.

I set up a Picasa account for the Rackers to hopefully provide a better and easier way to post pictures. Check it out and let me know what you think! I had this done over a month ago and thought I had posted the link. Evidentally not.

Chris Schroeder first informed me that the Rackers are featured in the current issue of Brew Your Own. I'm going to try to get the rights to reprint the article. The included picture features yours truly!

Did I mention the picnic at Chuck Golueke's place this Saturday? Be there! The weather is supposed to be beautiful! Also make sure to make the trek up to Oconto Falls for my club brew on July 10. We will have five, count 'em, five brewers: myself, Ed Mathis, Ryan Landwehr, Chuck Golueke, and Jason Schwefel. I also invited the guys from the Oconto County Brew Club and Falls Brewing to be there.

Be sure to be at Titletown on June 2nd! At our meeting we will be discussing the plans for the picnic and also a terribly cool way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rackers and the 10th of this very website. Be there!

In case you haven't noticed already, the scoresheets for Rackers members from the Titletown Open are at the House of Homebrew.

Ed Mathis continues to terrorize brewing competitions by taking "Best Black Beer" and 3rd place Best of Show at the State Fair Competition with his Foreign Extra Stout. He also reminds us that the UP North Fermentation Authority will be having a homebrew contest on June 30th. Information was emailed to everyone.

Chris Schroeder is no longer able to host the Club Brew on August 4. He would be willing to switch dates with someone else if they were so inclined.

One mistake on the Titletown Open winners that I missed: the judge's special recognition should have gone to Greg Christmas instead of Larry Carlin. That was my bad. Thanks to Larry for pointing that out.

In addition to multiple ribbons at this year's TTO, Ed Mathis also took a third at the Drunk Monk Challenge and his Olde Ale took a first at the midwest qualifier for the AHA National Homebrew Competition. Congrats!

Even though I just got back from a conference in Escanaba and have another meeting coming up in 20 minutes, I still managed to sneak in some time to post the winners of Titletown Open XIII. Congratulations to all who entered and all who won. gak also sent along some pictures taken by Dan Rogers. I'll try to get those posted as I have opportunity.

Your faithful webmaster is back from vacation and back in the saddle. Allow me first of all to welcome our new benevolent dictator, Ryan Loock, who was elected the new Rackers' president on Saturday. I can only assume that his head will now expand like an inflatable life raft.

Entries are due for our Titletown Open by tomorrow! Get 'em in! Judging will be on Friday and Saturday.

The MHTG Big and Huge Competition is coming up on the 28th. According to their website, enties are due tomorrow. I wish I would have known about this earlier . . .

The Beer Barons' fourth annual World of Beer event will be held on Saturday, June 9, at Schwabenhof Pavilion in Menomonee Falls. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
