Beware the Ides of March! While you are bewaring, also beware a schedule change! The April meeting has been moved back a week to April 14.

Bob Franklin has asked to be relieved of his duties as club president at this time. A new election will be held at the April meeting. Our thanks go out to Bob for his faithful leadership and for never being short with us *rimshot*. As an aside, Bob and Bill have updated the House of Homebrew website. I think it looks pretty slick. Go spend money! Hurry!
Mike Conard has set up a Cafe Press store for the Rackers, containing all manner of swag. I assume the Rackers will get a cut out of this, assuming Mike doesn't spend it all on Cheetos.
Ryan Loock has submitted the latest and greatest Strange Brew Review, the official newsletter of the Rackers, for your edification. This issue contains many correctly-spelled words.
Congrats once again to Ed Mathis for taking a third at the BABBLE Brew-Off. If you win an award at a competition let us know about it!
Trevor LaRene noted with sadness that Valley Liquor in DePere has closed. Our thanks go out to the Koehlers for stocking so many good beers and for their support of the Rackers. There is a bit of good news in that article though, and I quote, "Jim Koehler said he and his sister are eyeing the possibility of opening another store that specializes in wines, craft beers and their product knowledge and customer service."

Apparently next month's meeting will in fact be at the House of Homebrew instead of Bob's new place. Adjust your traveling plans accordingly.
Congratulations go out to Ed Mathis who took a first and a third at the Great Northern Brew Ha-Ha.

This month's meeting will be held at Titletown on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. Be there!
Wine Maker magazine sent a reminder about their annual wine competition. Entries are due by March 30. For more information or for entry forms, check out their website.
The annual EAA Hops and Props festival will be held on Saturday, March 3, from 6:30-10:00 P.M. at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh. Tickets are $45. You can order them at the link above.
The unfortunately-nicknamed "KrOtChRoTT" has posted the second of his BrewCam Projects, a video walking you through the brewing process. This video covers batch sparging. You will note that yours truly and the Rackers are mentioned at the beginning of the video. He asked permission to use the code for the brewing calculators that I whipped up. Permission was granted happily.
If you haven't been following gak's Beer Me Blog, you really should. Besides posting interesting beer-related tidbits, lately he has been keeping running diaries of his work schedule, giving you insight into the life of a professional brewer.

Mike sent along the syllabus and registration form and an advertising flyer for the BJCP training class that will be held at Stone Cellar Brewing in Appleton starting on February 1. This class is intended for those interested in becoming BJCP judges.
Bob also let us know that Anheuser-Busch will now be the U.S. distributor of the real Budweiser, Czechvar. I'm debating if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It could be good since A-B has an excellent distribution network. It could be a bad thing if they decide to limit availability. Time will tell.

This is your last chance to let us know if you are coming to the Christmas/Holiday/Whatever party on Sunday. Please email our esteemed President if you are planning on attending (also include if you are bringing a guest).
Trevor LaRene has volunteered to take the October club brew. We still have February, April, June, November, and December available. Email me if you are willing to host one.

Don't forget about the club brew tonight, being carried out by Fred Matzke at the House of Homebrew. Be there--and bring lots of cash to buy metric tons of brewing supplies. Also, don't forget about the Christmas/Holiday/Festivus/Defenestration of Prague party on Sunday, January 14, at 1:00 P.M. at Ned Kelly's in Green Bay. Please email our esteemed President if you are planning on attending (also include if you are bringing a guest).
Mike Conard emailed to say that he has a counterflow chiller that he is looking to give away to a good home. Interested? Email him!
